MAPS / CENTRAL JERSEY SUMMER INVITATIONAL
GALLERY: A
Festival of Soccer
Two
days, 17 fields, 234 games filled with players, coaches, referees, field
marshals, vendors, parents, staff and the occasional overhead military
jet make for a long weekend. And while the game is the thing, there is
still a lot of off-field activity that makes for a great festival
atmosphere... Like the Rhode Island Rays girls team that brings not only
a club banner but a US flag AND its STATE FLAG as well! |
Can't
have a festival without food vendors! Below left, former CJYSA League
President Gordon Fisher watches some game action. Below middle, East
Hudson Select battles SSC Sharks for a ball. Below right, Ref Assigner
Bob Mykulak assesses some of the refs in action. |
Above
left, a Morris County Select player easily outdistances a Hamilton Rock
rival in the Clint Mathis look-a-like contest. Above right, World Class
players stay rested and shaded between games. Below, a 7:30 AM referee
briefing before heading out to do six or seven games each. |
