In the MAPS tradition, the MPL provides a league/tournament format that keeps quality high and cost low.   This format complements the MAPS player progression system, offering high level competition, while cost conscious of current circumstances by concentrating play and providing travel-friendly scheduling.

The MPL offers:

Great Competition

• Automatic acceptance for the Champion and the Runner-Up team in each MAPS Flight age group, as well as for the top 25 teams Regionally. 

• In the spirit of the US Open Cup, an inclusive approach that allows quality teams an at-large bid to establish how they measure up against the best. 

Lots of Ranking Points up for grabs

• Each weekend, teams participate in a tournament that qualifies for ranking points.

• Summer-long standings will be maintained, culminating in a playoff weekend.

Lowest possible cost

• In light of the current economy,registration fees will be kept low and scheduling will try to keep travel/lodging  requirements to a minimal level.

Player Profiles

• Presented to college coaches in the older age groups.

LEAGUE FORMAT

• Each weekend is a stand-alone event. 

• Teams play three preliminary matches with the possibility of advancing to  championships round. 

• Teams that participate in at least three weekends are eligible to qualify for the league championships, with automatic acceptance if a Champion or Finalist at least once.

• This format promotes great games, rivalries, an enjoyable summer plus the chance to earn recognition in each and every weekend, as well as for the finals.

COST

• Registration fees are $275 per weekend and teams pay referee fees at the field.

• We will minimize travel requirements in an effort to make the league affordable.
