To the
Ukrainian Day Committee:
I
wanted to send you a quick note of thanks for a
great Ukrainian Day event this past Saturday - We
have never had such a festival at the stadium where
they needed to close the parking lot (lot 15)
because it was full before it actually opened at
4:30PM! With so many people at the festival at such
an early time, we knew that the day would be
special! Even though there were a few bumps and
bruises along the way, I think we all can agree that
everything came together in the end!
Thank
you all for all your hard work and dedication - from
getting the vendors, to the performers, to the
special guests - and thank you for making Ukrainian
Day one of the most successful Heritage Day
celebrations in the history of the MetroStars!

The
[MetroStars] attracted their largest non-doubleheader
crowd of the season on Ukrainian Heritage Day, a total
of 17,031 spectators, including former Olympic figure
skater Oksana Baiul, who participated in the ceremonial
kickoff.
